In response to the ” Nurly” initiative… Under Zhol ‘s “New Economic Policy,” the country’s largest steel conglomerate urgently needed to upgrade its aging Soviet-style power system to support two newly built high-power electric arc furnace (EAF) production lines for producing steel for high-speed rail tracks. • 2 units of 110kV/20kV 63MVA oil-immersed dual-winding power transformers.

• The “two-use, one-backup” or parallel running mode ensures redundancy. The 63MVA capacity is the standard for 110kV stations, stepping down high voltage to the commonly used 20kV medium voltage in Romania.
